Problem Note 40091: AGGREGATE_TOTAL function in the SAS® OLAP Server can restrict access to members with unexpected results
In SAS® 9.2, a new function, AGGREGATE_TOTAL, was created to provide faster results when filters are used in OLAP queries. In some cases, this function might restrict access to members with unexpected results.
Here is an example of using the AGGREGATE_TOTAL function in 9.2:
WITH
AGGREGATE_TOTAL as '{[Products].[All Products].[FURNITURE].[BED], [Products].[All Products].[OFFICE].[CHAIR]}'
MEMBER [Measures].[MyTest] AS
[Measures].[ActualSum] / ([Measures].[ActualSum], [Products].[All Products]), format_string="Percent10.2"
SELECT
{[Geography].[All Geography].children} ON ROWS,
{[Measures].[ActualSum], [Measures].[MyTest]} on COLUMNS
FROM [SalesCube]
|
In SAS 9.1, the same query uses the AGGREGATE function and returns a different result:
WITH
MEMBER [Products].[All Products].[Filtered] AS AGGREGATE({[Products].[All Products].[FURNITURE].[BED], [Products].[All Products].[OFFICE].[CHAIR]})
MEMBER [Measures].[MyTest] AS
[Measures].[ActualSum] / ([Measures].[ActualSum], [Products].[All Products]), format_string="Percent10.2"
SELECT
{[Geography].[All Geography].children} ON ROWS,
{[Measures].[ActualSum], [Measures].[MyTest]} on COLUMNS
FROM [SalesCube]
WHERE ([Products].[All Products].[Filtered])]
